Topo map

Cathedral Canyon of Lower Rock Creek is one of the wildest and most scenic destinations in the Ozarks. After a one mile trail through the forest, the hike follows the stream bed of Lower Rock Creek, with rock hopping and some scrambling, and the occasional boot worn track paralleling the stream. No maintained trail. The highest bluffs are up to 400ft, 3 bends (about a mile) upstream. Private property borders on the Forest Service land upstream and downstream.

Directions to trailhead:
Approximately 7 miles east of Marble Creek Recreation Area off Hwy E, turn onto Madison County Rd. 511. Continue for 0.3 mi across a creek and turn left onto a forest track immediately after the ford. There are pullouts for parking, or you can drive to a metal gate and park there.
