One of the most scenic places in Missouri. Forested knobs, limestone glades, Long Creek, waterfalls. We did an 8-9 mile loop, starting from the trailhead at the lookout tower off Hwy 125. We followed the trail along a forested ridge and down to Long Creek. The trail paralleled the creek, with several creek crossings - rock hoppping or wading. The stream bed is lined with dolomite and forms several small rocky cascades. The highlight are 10 ft high falls about 3 miles from the trailhead. For the return trip, we picked one of several trails to Pilot Knob. The hike leads through fabulous open glades on the ridgetop.
